The gymnasium addition was a much-needed improvement for the high school, providing students with a modern and spacious facility for physical education classes, sports teams, and other extracurricular activities. The new aluminum frame windows with thermal glazing not only added aesthetic appeal to the building but also improved energy efficiency. 

The addition of change rooms and a mezzanine allowed for more functionality and convenience for students and staff using the gymnasium. The walkway connecting the gymnasium to the existing school not only provided a seamless transition between the two buildings but also served as a versatile space for dance and exercise classes. 

The renovation of eight classrooms and the library to accommodate a new Grade 7/8 program was a significant upgrade for the school, providing students with updated and modern learning spaces. Despite the delay in construction due to an owner-imposed hold, the project finally commenced in June 2013 and was completed successfully, providing the high school with a state-of-the-art facility for its students and staff.
